Michelle Cox

When Michelle Cox is taking a photograph, she is always shooting for a reason. Whether she is photographing an object or a space, she tries to convey the emotion of the moment. Cox says "Generally I am very overwhelmed with emotional connections to objects, places, and moments. I create a world in my mind about the connection I am having and desire to show a piece of that puzzle in the image created."

Her love is interior photography, specifically desolate and neglected interiors. According to Cox, she loves to draw attention to the tiny and insignificant details in a space. "I feel as though there are stories to be told, memories to be heard and histories to be recorded in many items that are just left by the wayside, " she explains.

Cox finds inspiration in the work of renowned American photographer Sally Mann. Cox says "She is known for forging new territories in the photographic community and has successfully bridged the gap of photography and fine art."
