Working intuitively with paint, pencil or mixed media, Liz Mares finds there is a contradictory sense of control in being able to connect with each medium individually. She often incorporates hasty and sketchy patterns, stressing both chaos and instability through the use of heavy strokes, choppy lines and segregated imagery.
